Erwartet wurde er schon lange: Der Eee PC T91 – der erste Eee PC mit dreh- und klappbarem Touchscreen-Monitor. In der vergangenen Woche hatte Asus in Hamburg den Start für Juni angekündigt. Und jetzt hat Asus global eine passende Pressemitteilung samt technischer Daten veröffentlicht. Es könnte also doch etwas werden mit dem lang erwarteten Start.
Der Eee PC T91 kommt mit Intel Atom Z520, der auf dem Intel-Chipsatz US15W sitzt. Die Grafik ist integriert. Sie steuert das Touchscreen-Display, das 8,9 Zoll misst, an. Der Arbeitsspeicher umfasst 1 GB. Abenteuerlich liest sich die Beschreibung des Massenspeichers. Eine SSD mit 16 GB Speicher ist integriert. Hinzu zählt Asus eine (scheinbar) mitgelieferte SD-Karte mit weiteren 16 GB Kapazität. Zusätzlich soll eine externe Festplatte mit 30 GB abhängig von Markt und Ausführung mitgeliefert werden. Zu guter Letzt stehen dann noch 20 GB Online-Speicher “Eee-Storage” bereit. Nun rechnet Asus zusammen und kommt auf satte 82 GB zu Speicherung der eigenen Daten.
Der Rest der Ausstattung ist Klassen-typisch: 1 x LAN, WLAN b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 1 y VGA-Out, 2 x USB 2.0, Audio-In und 1 x Audio-Out. Die integrierte Webcam löst mit schwachen 0,3 Megapixel auf. Ein Mikrofon und ein Card-Reader stecken ebenfalls im Gehäuse. Optional soll es GPS, einen TV-Tuner und ein UMTS-Modul geben.
Als Energiespeicher kommt ein Lithium-Polymer-Akku zum Einsatz. Er soll eine Betriebsdauer von bis zu fünf Stunden ermöglichen.
Den nur 960 Gramm leichten Eee PC mit drehbarem Touchscreen-Monitor wird es in Schwarz und Weiß geben. Wann genau er hierzulande erscheint, ist noch nicht ganz sicher. Erwartet wird er in diesem Monat. Was das Gerät kosten soll, ist noch unklar.

Sensational Software Suite
The Eee PC T91’s software suite enables users to get the most out of the touchscreen. The programs of particular note include:
FotoFun
FotoFun allows users to flip through, organize and edit their photos via a customizable photo album interface. With just the flick of a finger, users can perform tasks such as adjusting image brightness, zooming in and out, and adding beautiful overlays such as frames. Users can even upload their edited pictures to popular photo-hosting websites conveniently via FotoFun.
Memos
Forgetting important appointments is a thing of the past with Memos. Memos allows users to jot down handwritten notes which can then be ’stuck’ on the desktop. Users can even send interactive memos across Eee PCs*. For example, a memo sent from a son’s Eee PC T91 reminding his father to see the doctor will appear on the father’s Eee PC T91.
Touch Gate
Touch Gate takes ease of use to a new dimension by enabling users to switch between different user interfaces on the fly. Users can choose from XP Mode, which is the standard Windows XP interface with the addition of a convenient application dock; Widget Mode which displays a plethora of information in neat, easily-organized widgets; and Touch Mode, a streamlined interface featuring large icons that makes it extremely easy for users to launch programs with their fingers.
IE Toolbar
IE Toolbar is a convenient toolbar in Internet Explorer that enables users to easily zoom in and out of web pages by manipulating a slider with their fingers. It also simplifies and speeds up switching between open web pages.

Sleek and Stylish Portability
Anticipating that the Eee PC T91 will spend a sizable amount of its time cradled in users’ arms, ASUS’ designers made sure to keep it extremely slim and light. The Eee PC T91 measures just 225cm by 164cm, and weighs a mere 0.96kg—making it one of the smallest and thinnest gadgets with an 8.9″ display in the world today. Extended Battery Life with Super Hybrid Engine
The Eee PC T91 features ASUS’ exclusive Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) which reduces energy consumption up to 15%, letting users enjoy up to 5 hours of continuous use per charge. This eliminates the need to lug power adapters along with them. SHE also allows users to make quick adjustments to the Eee PC T91’s performance and power consumption through readily-accessible presets. 2x USB ist aber nicht ganz "typisch"!? Bei einem teuren Gerät erwartet man doch mind. 3! Vor allem, weil man ja angeblich eine externe Festplatte bekommt.
Und das wichtigste wollte ASUS nicht mitteilen, was das Ding kostet.
Das mit 82Gb ist fast ein Betrug.
Und noch schlimmer, über T101H hört man kein Wort.

Hui, da werde ich ganz kribbelig. Ich dachte nicht mehr, dass das T91 noch kommt. Vielleicht will man einem Apple-tablet zuvorkommen und schiesst deswegen die Pressemitteilung raus?

Schön Schön aber dieses Speichers System gefällt mir garnicht :-( Hoffentlich kann man das Ding auf eine Normale Platte umrüsten! (16GB SSD...das soll wohl ein Witz sein)

Umrüsten kann man dort besimmt nichts, aber erweitern. Das kostet aber ein Vermögen. Eine 120GB SSD-Karte kostet schon um die 200€, wenn nicht mehr.
Normale Festplatten wird der T101H haben, aber auf den darf man sicher noch 3-4 Monate warten. ASUS will ja erst die T91 absetzen. Gemein!

456€? Wer kann sich sowas in der Dritten Welt leisten.
Selbst T91 wird in besten Fall 450€ kosten.( Ich denke eher wird ASUS frech 500€ velangen).
Die ASUS-Politik ist sehr merkwürdig. Man bringt unendlich viele Modelle auf den Markt, dann zieht man sich zurück. Über T101H gibt es kein Wort, auch wenn er gleich nach T91H kommen sollte. Aber sie ziehen es wohl raus.

ja.Ich auch. ASUS ist selber schuld. Dann habe ich erst Richtung Oktober einen neuen Netbook. Ich weiß echt nicht,welcher Depp sich T91 kauft.
Allerdings will ich für T101H auch nicht mehr als 550€ ausgeben. Hey, das ist immer noch ein leistungsschwacher Netbook. Gigabyte-Tablet kostet auch "nur" 550€, was eigentlich schon viel ist.
