Eee PC D200: Multifunktions-Nettop mit Touchscreen
Mit dem Eee PC D200 stellt ASUS auf seinem weitläufigen CES-Stand einen Mini-PC neuen Typs aus, der auf vielfache Weise eingesetzt werden kann. Mit Intel Atom N270 CPU (2 Gbyte RAM) & kompakten Maßen an ein Nettop a là Eee Box erinnernd, gehen die Nutzungsmöglichkeiten des Eee PC D200 doch weit über die eines reinen Surfterminals hinaus.
Primär ist der D200 wohl als Speicherlösung fürs Netzwerk zu sehen: Zwei 3,5″ HDD-Slots bieten Raum für bis zu 4 Terabyte Daten, die dank integriertem (W)LAN Access Point spielend einfach mit anderen Rechnern ausgetauscht werden können. Im Einstiegsmodell sollen zwei 500 Gbyte Festplatten ihren Dienst verrichten.
Auch ohne angeschlossene Peripherie (Monitor, Tastatur) kann der Eee PC D200 funktional genutzt werden. Der integrierte 3,5″ Bildschirm ist berührungsempfindlich, ermöglicht eine rudimentäre Bedienung. Mögliches Szenario: Das Gerät downloadet Filme und Musik aus dem Internet auf die Festplatte, von wo aus die Daten via Tastendruck auf DVD gebrannt werden können. Ein schicker SlotIn-Multidrive gehört zur Serienausstattung.
Aber auch als vollwertiger Multimedia-PC im Wohnzimmer macht der Eee PC D200 – anders als konventionelle Backup-Lösungen – eine gute Figur. Features wie der 5-Kanal Audioausgang ermöglichen dabei auch eine adäquate Wiedergabe der gespeicherten Inhalte.
Offiziell vorgestellt wird der Eee PC D200 zur CeBIT Anfang März in Hannover, noch im Frühjahr soll der Mini in den Handel kommen. Das Einstiegsmodell soll preislich bei rund $600 (EUR 440) liegen, so ein ASUS-Manager gegenüber den Kollegen von teltarif.de
